Trip and treat!
Authorities in Pennsylvania say that over 40 pounds of marijuana candy was seized earlier this week from a dorm room on the campus of West Chester University.
According to reports, University Police confiscated several individually wrapped bags of sweets discovered in an apartment on the University’s South Campus that had been laced with THC, the buzz producing cannabinoid found in marijuana.
The delicious find was the result of campus police pulling over a vehicle of WCU students and noticing the odor of marijuana permeating from the car.
No marijuana was reportedly found in the vehicle; however, after officers conducted a series of shakedown-style interviews with the stoned students, they were able to get one of them crack, and ultimately rat out Weedy Wonka to the cops.
This, of course, is just what police needed to warrant a special visit to the young lad’s dorm room, where officers did their little trick or treating a few days early.
Officials say they are still not entirely sure if the candy was intended to be distributed to neighborhood children on Halloween, or meant to be circulated to other college students.
"This appears to be an isolated incident and we have seized all of the drugs involved,” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Patrick Carmody. “But it is a good time to remind parents to check the candy collected by their children during Halloween and to discard anything that looks suspicious. We want all of our kids to stay safe."
So much for a Happy Halloween on the campus of West Chester University!
