A national cannabis advocacy tour called “Weed Not Greed,” aimed at increasing marijuana awareness and education, plans to hit the road in 2014.

According to a recent press release, the goal of the Weed Not Greed Education Tour is to embark on a journey of the highways and byways of the great American landscape in an attempt to further spread the word about the re-legalization of cannabis during such a crucial time in the United States for marijuana legislation.

The organization’s founder, David Kowalski, says that a 45-foot billboard bus, loaded with a staff of educated marijuana activists will travel the country in the largest direct action initiative ever, in hopes of educating the general public about the many advantages marijuana can provide for our society.

Kowalski says the group’s mission “is to educate the unknowing and to raise the issue above the level of a key election topic to immediate health and economic concern. The number of neurological and muscular diseases that cannabis can treat is shown in the dozens, including many types of cancer."

With just over 170 days left before these pot proponents hit the dusty trail, organizers say they are looking to secure financial support in the form of individual donations and corporate sponsorships to help pay for a $250,000 bus, plus around $20,000 for important items like fuel, food and personal care and hygiene items.
