Do you live in Washington? Are you looking for a job? How about a state level marijuana consulting position? Well, you might be in luck. After legalizing recreational marijuana last November, Washington State is currently attempting to figure out the best way to regulate what will no doubt be a multi-million dollar business.

The Washington Liquor Control Board is in charge of overseeing the newly created legal marijuana industry. And while they have a handle on licensing and regulating alcohol, they’re less confident when it comes to pot. According to a spokesperson, “There are some technical aspects with marijuana we could use a consultant to help us with.”

The Board advertised for consulting services in four categories:

• “Product and industry knowledge, which requires “at least three years of consulting experience relating to the knowledge of the cannabis industry, including but not limited to product growth, harvesting, packaging, product infusion, and product safety.”

• Quality testing, which includes testing for THC levels

• Statistical analysis of how much pot licensed growers in Washington should produce.

• Development of regulations, which requires “a strong understanding of state, local or federal government processes.” Applicants with a law degree are preferred.

Those interested in applying for the job must do so by February 15th. The board will fill the position in March.
