BURBANK, CA (AP) -- Rap star Snoop Dogg has been arrested on drug and weapons charges in California.

The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank yesterday afternoon.

Airport police stopped him at a loading zone for a vehicle code violation. Police say officers found a gun and marijuana in the vehicle.

Snoop Dogg's attorney says there's no basis for the arrest and believes that "once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed."

The rapper posted $35,000 bail. He's scheduled to appear in court December 12th.
