A forensic scientist is fighting his conviction for marijuana possession. John Anderson was fined for making medicinal cannabis oil but he plans to take his case before the European Union if need be.

Anderson first created his cannabis oil to treat a tooth problem. He says, “It was the perfect relief and got me through until I could have surgery.” Anderson found a single application provided pain relief for a week or longer.

Years later, after injuring his shoulder in two separate incidents, Anderson again turned to cannabis. While most would likely have accepted the possession fine, Anderson deeply believes in the medicinal powers of marijuana.

According to Anderson, “The Government classes cannabis alongside heroin and cocaine and it states in our laws that cannabis has no medicinal benefits. Research going back 5,000 years says otherwise.”

We wish Mr. Anderson the best of luck in his case and commend him for having the courage to fight for what he so strongly believes.
