It's not often that a pot bust reveals a potentially encouraging trend concerning indoor cannabis cultivation, but such is the case with a marijuana garden raided in Sussex, southeastern England's historic county.

It was reported late last week by the Daily Mail that after Sussex police raided a large cultivation warehouse in the village of Small Dole, they discovered, along with an estimated 500 plants, 115 rooftop solar panels utilized to provide energy to the grow facility.

This may indicate that in the future, more UK pot harvesters will opt for eco-friendly (and less expensive) solar energy as an alternative to the costly and risky (due to possible law enforcement detection) use of conventional power necessary to properly cultivate high-quality indoor cannabis.

Solar panels are becoming more popular in the Western US as weed farmers are looking to take advantage of all that desert sun translating into cheap energy.
