According to recent reports, a mentally unstable woman from Tennessee was arrested on Sunday after authorities say she intentionally drove her car through the front doors of a nearby church, jumped on the alter and then stabbed her husband because the devil said he was “worshipping the NASCAR race at Bristol.”
However, to read the story in The New York Daily News, those right wing fiends would have you believe that marijuana was culprit behind this sordid brutality and attempted murder, rather than placing their focus on the fact that this woman’s cheese slid completely off the cracker.
“Stephanie Faye Hamman, 23, of Church Hill, Tenn. said she smokes marijuana all day and all night,” reads the article in the NY Daily News, citing babbling testimony from a local weed-hating police chief instead comments from a medical professional.
"She stated God had told her that smoking marijuana all day and all night was not good for her, and that she only needed to smoke it at night to help her relax," said Police Chief Mark Johnson. "Mrs. Hamman further stated that she felt her husband Steven was worshiping the NASCAR race at Bristol (Tenn.), which made her mad, and she began having thoughts that the devil put in her head."
Apparently, after Hamman was arrested, rather than have her evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist, police decided to cart her off to the local jail, where they proceeded to interrogate her in an attempt to find out what types of drugs she had been using.
"I smoke a bunch of weed. I love to smoke it,” said Hamman during a police interview. “Sometimes when I do, I start seeing things that others don't. Isn't God good? He told me that this would happen, and just look, I am okay."
Clearly, this woman’s dreadful actions were the result of a severe mental illness and not brought on by the use of marijuana. Yet, it seems the mainstream media never misses an opportunity to paint an evil portrait of pot to force feed the average American and appease their conservative advertisers on bended knee.
The truth is, there is no conceivable way marijuana had anything to do with Stephanie Hamman acting delusional, psychotic and ultra-violent unless the herb she was smoking had been laced with hard drugs or soaked in formaldehyde.
