With the Jamaican Parliament seriously debating marijuana legalization, ganja gardeners and pot producers are proactively establishing an association to oversee a potential multi-billion dollar industry.
The Cannabis Future Growers and Producers Association intends on leading the burgeoning Jamaican cannabis industry. The Association will launch on January 18 as part of a six-hour forum entitled “Going Forward – Legalise It” to be held at the University of the West Indies in Mona, St. Andrew.
Among the association’s positions is that Jamaica should have ownership of no less than 55 percent of all licensed cannabis industry establishments and investments. The Association also wants to maintain strict enforcement and penalties for illegally exporting cannabis.
