A man and woman from Slater face felony charges after police raided their home and found drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Officers were initially alerted to the house by complaints of unusually high vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the 500 block of Clyde Street. A search of a garbage bag left out for collection revealed marijuana stems, stalks and seeds as well as empty rolling paper packages.

Based on this evidence, a search warrant for the house was obtained. Officers found Bryan L. Nutt, 32, and Sherry A. Nutt, 46, the occupants of the house, along with more than 40 grams of marijuana, rolling papers and a pipe with marijuana residue.

Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Don Stouffer filed information charging the Nutts with class C felony possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 24 and warrants for their arrest were served Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The Nutts are next scheduled to appear in Saline County Associate Circuit Court Division 6 on Nov. 9 when they will be formally arraigned.
