This is the final installment of Dan Fogler's three-part blog leading up to the opening of Don Peyote, opening in theaters today.

I had a dream last night. And the great prophet Don Peyote said, "Let the weed be freed! Let it grow into uninhibited -- lush waves of green, cascading over a new kind of Eden! The pothead's paradise!"

I want to tell you good people about a dream I had last night. It was a perfect jade-colored dream. A beautiful Emerald City dream! I dreamt that my little girl would one day be able to walk down the streets of my hometown -  New York City - and if she so desired and if she was of appropriate age, she could buy a pristine nug of ganja. Not from a skeezy dude in Washington Square Park in the cold at midnight, but at midday in the glory of the bright shining sun! From a clean and friendly dispensary nestled between a Starbucks and an Old Navy. I dreamt that she wasn't persecuted or forced to hide in alleyways or on dangerous rooftops like her daddy did for so many years, and like so many smokers did before him -- creeping, scurrying from the man like thieves in the night. Like second class citizens! Like rats!

I dreamt that the billions in tax revenue generated from weed purchases went directly to paying for schools, parks and bridges, strengthening the infrastructure of this fair city instead of lining the pockets of the black market profiteers. I dreamt that what our forefathers said about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness actually came to fruition. And happiness became not a pursuit,  but an actual destination. And that destination was right here in New York City!

This was not just a "pipe" dream, my friends. Oh no! it was the Mother of All Pipe Dreams! And it was very much intertwined with the American dream! It’s our collective dream!

In my dream, the green spread from coast to coast and around the globe, and back again faster than you can say "Tetra-hydro-cannabinol!"

I dreamt that the leaders of the world sat down and smoked the peace pipe with one another like brothers and sisters. And the magic green smoke then filled their dreams! And their third eyes became dilated and clear and the light flowed in. Then they could actually envision a world running on clean, green THC technology! In my dream I saw a fully sustainable, truly green world that was fed, fueled, clothed and healed with the miracle of marijuana!

In my dream, every man woman and teenager came together and held hands right here in Union Square in New York City and  shared a massive joint of pure, perfect cannabis -- which they bought for a reasonable price right over there next to the Whole Foods. And they all smiled up to the heavens and let loose a collective sigh of relief: "Weed at last! Weed at last! Thank you New York City! We have weed at last!"

A gorgeous dream indeed. Finally to paraphrase Cat Stevens: "If you want to be free be free, and if you want to live high live high. There’s a millions ways to be. You know that there are!"
